AuDHD Forward
I am passionate about sharing my late diagnosis story as a 53 year old woman who had supported autistic and adhd children in schools for over 20 years, attended countless professional and post graduate related study programmes, but never understood exactly was guiding my own passion to support those children, I naturally empathised and resonated with.
I didn’t recognise my own neurodivergence. I refuted for years I could be autistic. And now I want to share the bits of information and insight I was missing about what being autistic can look like, so I can help others understand and be understood.
For me understanding my autistic self has meant connecting with a heart felt understanding of autism, of difference and I am determined to go what I can to help eradicate the associated fear, stigma and stereotyped understanding of the autistic experience.
I speak and I write, I train and I coach.
I offer training for schools and businesses which combines lived experience with knowledge gained as a specialist teacher, SENCO, undiagnosed lived experience with the new autistic lens my own diagnosis has now gifted me.
I offer support to university students, school children, teachers, parents and newly diagnosed or adults who self identify as autistic, through mentoring and specialist coaching services.
The focus of my work is to raise self awareness and reflection, support through advocacy and accountability, never to ‘fix’ .
