Autistic Discovery & Me Therapeutic Support Group is a group for newly identified or those questioning their autistic identity. I feel very excited about this, as a late-identified autist I know the struggle of questioning your neurotype and wanting some answers. I will not be able to tell you whether you are autistic or not but I will provide the space, information and conditions for you to explore your emerging autistic identity in a safe and supportive environment.

The therapeutic support group is going to run for 8 weeks and each week we will approach a different aspect of the autistic experience, engage in gentle activities and group discussions with the aim to promote your exploration of your identity and experiences. ​​​ Every week you will also be given the opportunity to engage in two somatic based exercises that can help promote your emotional wellbeing and nervous system regulation. This will be supported with handouts, worksheets and audio recordings to support your individual journey.

In week one participants will be encouraged to choose 6 topics, which will be covered from week 2-7 from the following list:

• Autistic Communication
• Sensory Experiences
• Autistic Masking
• Intersectionality
• Autism and other Neurodivergencies
• Autistic Emotional Experiences
• Interests, Passions and Monotropism
• Ableism & Imposter Syndrome

The aim would be by the end of the therapeutic group support you will have a clear idea of whether you wish to identify as autistic. The Autistic Discovery & Me Group will be delivered online and with a maximum of 6 particpant who need to commit to the whole 8 week programme. Participants will not be able to join part way through.

The cost is £25 per session through website or £25 plus Eventbrite fees through Eventbrite. All sessions need to be purchased to secure your place. If this difficult for you then please contact me and we can discuss your options.
