Baycroft School
Hampshire County Council
Baycroft is a school for pupils with moderate learning disabilities (MLD), however 50 per cent of students have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The school caters for students of ages 11-16. Most of the ASD students work in the main part of the school. A small number, currently 12, are based in a resourced provision where the adult to student ratio is high: 2 students to 1 adult. Students in the resourced provision integrate into the main body of the school (with support). ASD students have weekly Social Use of Language Programme (SULP) sessions which are either run or monitored by the school's speech and language therapist. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
