Bertha DocHouse: Autism-friendly, relaxed documentary film screenings
Bertha DocHouse is the UK's first cinema dedicated to screening documentaries, based in the heart of London. We will be running relaxed screenings at 2pm on the first Wednesday of every month.
Relaxed screenings are open to everyone but are deigned to benefit individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties, or sensory and communication difficulties by showing films in a less formal screening environment.
The next relaxed screening will be THE STIMMING POOL on Wednesday 2nd April at 2pm.
What to expect from relaxed screenings:
• No trailers or adverts, so the film will start promptly at the advertised time.
• Lights will be kept on low throughout the film.
• Sound volume is set quieter than usual screenings.
• Capacity is capped at 50% to allow plenty of space between groups.
• Seating is unallocated so you’re free to sit where you like.
• You’re welcome to move around or walk out of the screen and there is a quiet seating area outside the screen to take a break if needed.
