Camp Mohawk

Camp Mohawk

Mohawk is a multi-functional day centre for children with special needs, set in 5 acres of beautiful countryside, just outside Wargrave, Berkshire. Throughout the year the centre provides a range of activities, facilities and natural space to encourage children with a variety of special needs to play, socialise and learn in a secure and caring environment. Hawks YPP is a youth project for teenagers and young adults (13 - 25) of mainstream ability on the autistic spectrum, and comprises several different elements. CATS (Children on the AuTistic Spectrum) is an after school and holiday group which meets weekly after school. Its members are young people of mainstream ability between the ages of 8 and 13 who have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Although they don't generally offer respite (children usually need to be accompanied by a parent or carer) they aim to give parents as much of a break as possible. To register with Mohawk as either a family please see the 'Registration' page www.campmohawk.org.uk/registration.html for more information.

If you run or are involved with a group that caters for children with special needs, and you are interested in visiting, please contact the centre to discuss your requirements. Please note: The centre is not a camp site (despite the name!). They do not provide overnight accommodation.
