People We Support:
The age range of any prospective person we support is from eighteen years of age upwards – there is no upper age limit. Our regulated activities with CQC are: Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care.
Range of needs:
All people we support within this home must have a diagnosis and be on the autistic spectrum and have been the subject of a full NAS TRIAD assessment of needs. Any individual must be judged to be able to benefit by being supported by the SPELL Framework philosophy, and whose admission would not cause detriment to any current service users.
Nursing:
No nursing care is currently provided.
Accommodation:
Fernery House is a three story building with 6 en-suite bedrooms. The people we support are able to lock their bedroom doors if they so wish and each bedroom has en-suite facilities. The building has 1 communal bathroom with W/C and has 3 communal lounge areas with dining table, 2 kitchens and its own private garden including seating and access to sea front directly to the front of the house. Bedrooms will be furnished and decorated to suit the lifestyle of each individual person we support. A secure walled rear garden has been made accessible and is used on a regular basis.
The accommodation will be kept clean and hygienic and measures taken to ensure that there are controls over the spread of infection in accordance with relevant legislation. An annual Infection Control Audit is undertaken and reviewed / updated as and when required.
Each bedroom is furnished and decorated in line with personal centered approaches and the choices of the people we support making each room unique and personalized.
The building also has a lounge with TV and DVD player, Activity room with seating area, dining room, 2 kitchens One of which is used for activities , and separate laundry room. The service has a rear enclosed garden with communal garden furniture and swing.
