Hope Valley Psychology
Our service offers person centred assessments for people thinking about whether Autism and or ADHD fit for them. We work with people to explore together understanding and making sense of their experiences. People coming for an assessment have often felt like they don’t quite ‘fit’ and may feel exhausted trying work out how to. They may also find many strengths like an ability to focus on interests and passions, be a creative thinker or live life by strong values.
The service is run by Consultant Clinical Psychologists, Dr Katherine Hildyard and Dr Sarah Rodgers. They have both worked for many years in NHS services specialising in working with adults who are neurodiverse. They are also experienced supervisors and trainers working many years in academic training settings. Katherine and Sarah are trained and experienced in the ‘gold standard’ assessments- DISCO-II, ADOS-II, ADI-R and DIVA 5. They are also trained in the WAIS-IV if that looks helpful to support exploring any cognitive difficulties someone is experiencing. The service also offers follow up psychological support if people want to explore the meaning of a diagnosis for their lives.
Katherine and Sarah use a number of different psychological approaches such as CBT, DBT, CFT and Systemic narrative therapy within a person centred framework to work in partnership with people accessing our support.
