HY Counselling

HY Counselling

I am a humanistic Gestalt counsellor, and I provide a counselling service for autistic and neurodivergent individuals (whether they have received a diagnosis or not). I also provide a counselling service to family members, friends, carers, and the wider community that support autistic and neurodivergent individuals. Sessions are neuro-affirmative and LGBTQ+ friendly.

I have experience of working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals and their families within a counselling capacity and as a specialist mentor. Being autistic and neurodivergent myself means that I can relate to, and have experienced first-hand, some of the opportunities and challenges resulting from being both autistic and neurodivergent.

Maybe you would like support to:

  • Understand what autism and neurodiversity may mean for you and your family.
  • Explore whether you or a family member is autistic or neurodivergent.
  • Work through feelings resulting from a late diagnosis or a misdiagnosis.
  • Work through difficulties with social communication or with establishing, managing and sustaining relationships.
  • Manage effectively in a workplace or education setting.
  • Understand your sensory experiences and preferences.

Whilst autistic or neurodivergent individuals will share certain characteristics, they will experience these differently. I modify the counselling sessions to accommodate your individual needs and I invite you to contact me to discuss your needs.

In addition to my experience with neurodiversity I am experienced in working with a range of presenting issues including, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and relationship difficulties.

I offer short term and long term, online or telephone counselling sessions to adults of all ages within the UK. I also offer sessions face to face at my private practice, in Fareham, Hampshire. Sessions are available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to help you decide if I am the ‘right’ counsellor for you.
