Julie Andrews

Julie Andrews

Julie spent several years working for the National Health Service (NHS) under Eileen Arnold in Northampton, where she trained as a Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) trainer. During the past 25 years she has attended courses such as Social Stories and Talk Tools in order to enhance her skills working with the diverse needs of people who have a autism.

She has also received extensive training in Sensory Integration and believes that younger clients need to have their sensory issues addressed before they can focus on communication work with her. Julie's approach to providing therapy is eclectic and suited to individual needs and styles - whatever they may be.

More details of her experience and training are available on www.sltonline.co.uk. Standardised speech and language assessments are carried out using tools such as Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals® (CELF-5). She can also provide informal/formal assessments for social skills and sensory integration dysfunction plus a neuro developmental screen to assess early reflex skills.

Tribunal assessments are undertaken as an expert witness for parents, local authorities and solicitors. Assessment sessions consist of case history taking, formal assessments and a written report. She is prepared to make home and school, nursery or college visits.
