Kingspark School

Kingspark School

Kingspark School has approximately 179 pupils, aged between five and eighteen years. All of the pupils have complex learning and communication support needs and many have autism, physical disabilities or health conditions . The main catchment area for the school is the City of Dundee, but pupils also attend from Angus, Fife and Perth. The school achieved NAS Beacon Status in 2023.

Class sizes are small and have a high staff to pupil ratio to support our learners effectively. The classrooms have structured settings which provide learners with visual clues to enable their understanding and to help them make sense of their environment. Each classroom has designated areas for specific tasks with clear boundaries, and materials are easily accessible to encourage independence. The school curriculum has a specific focus on personal and social skills, communication, independent living, self-care, emotional regulation, play and leisure skills. The curriculum is adapted to the best meet the needs and interests of individual learners. The SCERTS approach is utilised to assess and support autistic learners throughout the school.
