Learning Disability Wales
Learning Disability Wales is the collective voice of the voluntary sector in Wales and promotes the right of children and adults with a learning disability to have valued lives. Learning Disability Wales: works in partnership with other organisations, service users and their parents/carers; campaigns to help people with learning disabilities achieve valued lives; supports the voluntary sector and its interests; provides and promotes good practice. Services include: supporting and working with voluntary organisations; an information service including a magazine and newsletter; training; campaigning and policy work; undertaking special innovative projects. Learning Disability Wales provides a range of training and events addressing issues relevant to those who work with children and adults with learning disabilities, as well as people with learning disabilities themselves, their parents family and carers including: Person Centred Planning; Young people as disability awareness trainers; Making information easy to understand; Direct Payment. We specialise in using trainers and speakers that have both expertise and also real experience in their relevant fields. Our training is delivered across Wales, from our own offices in Cardiff and other venues. Training is delivered both on an in-house basis and from a set programme of courses which can be viewed on our website.
