Maben House School
Maben House and School provides education and care for young people aged 5-21 with a range of additional support needs including Autistic Spectrum Condition, Mental health diagnoses, trauma and other learning difficulties. We offer day education, and 39-week and 52-week residential placements.
Surrounded by lunch green hills and rolling countryside, Maben House provides an idyllic setting for young people to learn. Our location allows for excellent outdoor learning opportunities, in addition to accessing facilities in and around Dumfries.
Our recently refurbished residential accommodation provides space for up to 8 young people and offers a modern and homely living environment. Our newly built classroom block supports students to access the Curriculum for Excellence in a modern and low-sensory learning environment, with small class sizes enabling our teaching team to provide high levels of support.
Our teams work therapeutically, underpinned by Trauma-informed practice to prioritise the emotional, social and physical well-being of our young people, ensuring they are settled to learn and develop to their full potential.
Our in-house Clinical team support young people by providing a comprehensive package including Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychotherapy and Educational Psychology. This supports young people to develop essential communication skills, enhancing daily living skills and building resilience and mental well-being.
