The Money Charity
For 30 years, The Money Charity has been the UK’s Financial Capability charity, with a vision of helping people of all ages and at all stages of life to increase their Financial Wellbeing by managing their money well. They do this through delivering Financial Wellbeing and Financial Education Workshops and Webinars to groups of people in schools and colleges, charities and community groups as well as workplaces, to help engage them with their money. They also produce a range of resources for individuals.
The Money Charity has worked in collaboration with experts-by-experience to develop Activity-Based Financial Wellbeing Workshops, to ensure that their content is accessible to groups of adults with learning disabilities. Each session is 1.5 hours long (including a break) and they ask host organisations to choose from a range of activities covering topics such as budgeting, scams, financial abuse and how to be a savvy shopper.
They also have the same offering available to young people, through Activity-Based Financial Education Money Workshops. These are similarly designed to be interactive, with short activities that are ideal for giving young people an introduction to the concepts of Financial Education. All their Workshops are flexible and can fit within usual lesson structures.
