Sonja Ayres - Inclusive Therapy

Sonja Ayres - Inclusive Therapy

In sessions I aim to communicate, in a way that is responsive and considerate to each client's unique strengths, interests and needs. I aim also for sessions to provide clients with the opportunity to feel valued and understood and accepted.

Sessions will focus on setting and moving towards therapeutic goals and what is important to the client. Sessions offer the opportunity for clients to gain fresh perspectives through reflecting on and understanding themselves within their given contexts and previous experiences. I aim to facilitate clients to develop strategies that enable increased empowerment and the ability to move forward and use their strengths. I aim to facilitate an increased awareness and recognition of personal resources and strengths and furthermore the tools that you can be used to overcome barriers to living more rewardingly.

The main theoretical models that inform my approach are: Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.
