SSHINE (Staff & Student Healthcare Initiative for Neurodiversity and Equity)
We aim to create and share resources for neurodivergent healthcare professionals and students, and our colleagues and peers. We deliver talks, create online learning and training resources, and provide feedback on policy. Some of our main works have included an e-learning module and guide to practice-based learning for neurodivergent students and for educators which provide information on neurodiversity and ideas for support and creating a more inclusive space for learning. These can be freely accessed via the website and we continue to develop new resources all the time.
At our core, we aim to create equity in healthcare workplaces and learning environments, and remove the barriers preventing neurodivergent people from reaching our full potential. SSHINE was created by neurodivergent healthcare students and staff, and autistic members are represented in our group.
