St Joseph's Specialist Trust

St Joseph's Specialist Trust

St Joseph's Specialist Trust is an independent non-maintained specialist school and collage, and registered children's home with two local Supported Living houses nearby. We support young people aged 5 - 19 with complex and severe learning difficulties, many of whom are on the Autistic Spectrum, and other associated difficulties. Our prevision uses an embedded therapies approach in care and education and focuses on access to the community for all, irrespective of their challenges.

We are a Catholic provision with Christian principals at our core; welcoming students and staff of all faiths and of none. The curriculum is personalised and differentiated to meet needs of all our young people. Young people throughout the school and collage are taught in mixed groups. St Joseph's has specialist schools status in communication and interaction and has a large purpose built therapies and development centre housing a team of therapists including speech and language, occupational therapy, art and music psychotherapy. They ensure that all students needs are met through individual, group and class sessions.

Young people live in homely environments with a strong focus on life skills and independence. Young people access the community for shopping, local activities and leisure with full support to ensure they can maximise their potential within the home setting. St Joseph's 22 acre site is situated on the outskirts of Cranleigh in the Surrey Hills between Guildford and Horsham.
