Torfield School
East Sussex County Council
Torfield School caters for primary aged children and young
people who have a range of special educational needs (SEN). Torfield is
designated by the local authority as a special school for pupils with autism
and Associated Communication and Language Difficulties (ACLD). In practice this
means a large number of our children have autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
However a significant number of pupils also have speech, language and
communication difficulties and other complex SEN. Torfield also provides an
outreach support and training service to local schools, supporting pupils with
ASD. Torfield School was judged Good in every category during its most recent
Ofsted inspection. Other disabilities and conditions catered for are Speech,
language and communication difficulties.
