Valuing Minds is a Hertfordshire-based Educational Psychology consultancy providing services for 0 – 25 year olds, their parents or carers and their school or college in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North London primarily.

As well as our other services, we are now able to offer autism assessments. We adopt a ‘Gold Standard’ approach to such assessments, which will be conducted by a multi-disciplinary team. 

The assessment is likely to include:

• An exploration of developmental history via a semi-structured interview with parents/caregivers, lasting approximately 3 hours (Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised - ADI-R).
• Observation of your child in nursery, school or college and a discussion with teachers, if required.
• A structured assessment of your child lasting approximately 1 hour (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition - ADOS-2).
• Review of relevant recent professional reports.
• Discussion of outcomes within the diagnostic team.
• Report to include recommendations.

Our fees for autism assessments including ADOS2 and ADI-R are in the region of £2250 (not including travel expenses). Educational psychology assessments cost £1550 (not including travel expenses. Attendance at tribunal costs including reading 'the bundle' £900. Valuing Minds are VAT registered and while assessments are VAT exempt (except in the case of medicolegal work) other costs may have VAT added.
